My interests in jazz are:
I am interested in all aspects of jazz, including the cultural context in which it has developed. As a radio broadcaster, I have interviewed such major artists as Mary Lou Williams, Dexter Gordon, Max Roach, Art Blakey, Randy Weston, Sun Ra, and others too numerous to mention. I have taught jazz history courses at Georgetown & American universities, University College University of Maryland and the Smithsonian. I currently teach jazz history at the University of the District of Columbia.
More about what I do:
I have worked as a union representative for the American Federation of Government Employees since 1978. Now retired.
